In support of Douglas against the lies.

There seems to be some concern amongst this community of short story writers about my identity, Jane Smith has publicly declared me to be nothing more than a figment of Douglas's imagination. According to Jane, she has proof that Douglas and I share the same ip address; knowing that to be an impossibilty, I asked her to check again, (twice), thinking she might have made a genuine mistake, and giving her the oppotunity to correct herself. She has not amended her accusation, so I can only assume that she hasn't made a mistake, but is in fact a liar. Jonathan Pinnock commented on his own blog, "I have no reason to doubt what Jane is saying"; those who watch the BBC programme 'The Real Hustle', may well be familiar with that phrase, "no reason to doubt". The only connection between Douglas and myself is that we both share the same internet provider; along with 1.1 million others. Why Jane would lie about something so insignificant as me, is a bit worrying, and does call in to question the integrity of this so called well respected member of this community.
An anonmous blogger has commented on Nik Perring's blog that my "phrasing is very similar to Bruton's", this did make me chuckle, that someone would compare me; someone without a single o'level to his name, to a University Educated prize winning author. lol. If this anonymous blogger can't even tell the difference between me and Douglas, then how can they then make comparisons between the works of two genuine writers.
As I've said elsewhere I am not a writer and merely stumbled into this community; which I would have expected, by it's very nature, to be filled with intelligent open minded people; how wrong I was; more like a coach load of Daily Mail readers!
I suggest that anyone who has an interest in this story; and judging by the amount of comments made, there are a lot of you, read as much as you possibly can about it, read the accusations; as many of them as you can, as they do appear to change from day to day, and more importantly read Douglas's defence, which has remained constant throughout, thought provoking and honest. Don't be afraid to come to your OWN conclusions, and speak your OWN mind.
